Headache and Migraine
Headaches and migraines can disrupt daily life, with migraines often causing more intense pain, nausea, and light sensitivity. Triggers include stress, posture, and environmental factors. Treatment often combines lifestyle changes, medication, and alternative therapies for relief and prevention.
What You Need To Know
Whether it is a dull annoyance that distracts you from your work or the pain is so extreme that you have to lie down in a dark room and suffer, headaches can drastically impact every single aspect of your life. While migraines can cause headaches, they are slightly different and may be one of a dozen causes of head pain. Both headaches and migraines are thought to be a complex neurological dysfunction between the body, brain, inflammation, and blood vessels that (may) result in head pain.
How we treat Headache and Migraines
The first step to eliminating headaches or migraines is to determine their cause. They can be referred pain from your jaw or neck, from eye strain, sinusitis, hormones or blood sugar dysregulations, sleep apnea, or a food allergy/sensitivity. To make things more complicated, migraines can even occur without any head pain, but rather with symptoms that mimic a stroke. To determine the trigger, we examine the body, brain, mind, and chemistry. We will do whatever it takes to get to the root of the problem. When we find something, we have the tools and colleagues to fix it. Whether we have to help you decrease stress, change a diet, recommend some nutrients, prescribe a CPAP, fix a sensory processing issue, check your vision, or all of the above, we have options. At Plasticity®, we don’t treat headaches; we eliminate them.
