What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, computer-assisted way to help your brain form new, functional pathways. We place sensors on your head to measure your real-time brainwaves and a computer analyzes those brain waves and provides you “feedback” in the form of visual activity, such as a video game. You can encourage positive brain wave development through exercises where you change what is happening on the screen by changing your brain activity and learning new patterns that continue after your session.
What conditions can neurofeedback help with?
Neurofeedback can help with a wide range of conditions, including:
-
Concussions and traumatic brain issues
-
Depression
-
Chronic pain
-
ADHD
-
And more!
If you have a specific condition that you’d like more information on, schedule a free consultation with a functional neurologist at Plasticity Centers! We create customized plans for our patients’ needs and goals, and we may or may not recommend neurofeedback for you.
Is Neurofeedback Safe?
Yes! It’s non-invasive and is generally considered safe for the majority of patients. If you have specific questions or concerns, talk with one of our functional neurologists.
How many sessions does it take?
It depends on the individual’s needs and goals! There are a variety of factors that affect how long it takes for optimal results, and if you schedule a free consultation, we’d be more than happy to talk with you about it!
