Plasticity Brain Centers of Orlando (PBCO) joins the Carrick Institute, as a co-sponsor of the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council, 2017 Southeast Regional Mini-Conference event in Orlando, Florida on July 29-30. This is the first year that the ACA Sports Council will hold 4 mini-conferences around the country to address key topics, important to those medical & health professionals treating athletes across the country.

This particular mini-conference will focus on neurology and concussion. With some 1.6 – 3.8 million sports-related concussions occurring in the United States annually, according to the latest research data from the National Institutes of Health, and almost 50% of these going unreported due to a variety of reasons including, lack of knowledge concerning symptoms and an unwillingness to be removed from competition, these 4 regional events become a critical must.

The Southeast Regional Mini-Conference in Orlando brings together chiropractic clinicians that are on the cutting edge of treatments for neurological injuries, to share their experiences and knowledge of the latest advances and rehabilitation techniques. Because concussions and traumatic brain injuries are at the forefront of concern in all levels of sport – from the PeeWees to the Professionals, understanding how such injuries affect: the Vestibular System, Autonomic System, and Musculoskeletal System is essential.

Both PBCO and the Carrick Institute have a significant track record of success treating some of today’s most celebrated athletes, not just those in the United States, but those at the top of their game from countries around the world. In many cases, athletes who have gone through every form of traditional treatment make their way to one of these two treatment centers – with transformative results.

Plasticity Brain Centers of Orlando is a leader in non-invasive neurorehabilitation, and the team is comprised of board-certified experts, therapists, doctors and neuroscience specialists. Our clinicians are seasoned functional neurologists, trained and mentored personally by the leading specialist in the field, Dr. Ted Carrick, founder of the Carrick Institute.

Our specialists provide a revolutionary, research-based approach to neurological rehabilitation, using cutting-edge treatment and technological advances to help patients suffering from traumatic brain injuries, degenerative brain diseases, and developmental disorders. They are focused on improving neurological function and performance in as little as five days.

"Interdisciplinary collaboration is critical to the successful resolution of post-concussive syndromes", says Dr. Antonucci, who also serves on the American Board of Chiropractic Specialties. "The opportunity to sponsor this event aligned perfectly with Plasticity Brain Centers’ fundamental principles of education, patient care, and collaboration. We are here to support local doctors in any way possible."
